SUD supports Incremental Up House
Sustainable and solidarity houses in Cambodia, for $2,000 each
Goal: a house design that is easy to build, ecological, able to deal with the flood effects and costing less than $2,000, for the deprived neighbourhoods at the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Winner of the competition, the “Incremental Up House” project uses the design principles of vernacular constructions observed locally. The prototype is based on the traditional Cambodian house, the size of which evolves with the family.
Flashback to 2013
SUD has exhibited at its premises the works of the first-year students of EcohlCité, the world's first school specialising in monumental mural art.
SUD supports EcohlCité, the first international higher education establishment specialising in monumental mural art.
Over the next 3 years, SUD will co-operate with EcohlCité, the world's first higher education establishment specialising in mural art, monumental frescoes, architectural trompe l'oeil and urban decoration & design. This partnership will take the form of a participation in the tuition fees of students and in a support to the pedagogic team by means of lessons and workshops on the history of architecture of large cities throughout the world.
Organised by the National Architecture School of Lyon and the Sikkens-AkzoNobel company, the Sikkens Prize ("Prix de la Couleur"), organised on 19 March 2013, aims at promoting students' projects on an imposed theme. This year: space and light. In its capacity as jury member and students' partner, SUD will display at its premises the works prepared, so as to make them known to a larger audience.
